Commission appoints Richards to SEDC board and backs regional economic‑development strategy

Richards said reestablishing direct elected representation helps strengthen county ties to the coalition's advisory work.
Economic development specialist Kayla McDonald briefed the board on plans to pursue a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and potential EDA funding. McDonald said a regional approach with neighboring jurisdictions will improve competitiveness for EDA grants; commissioners approved Resolution 24-08-CC-01 unanimously and authorized participation and staff involvement in grant preparation.
