The Board of Education of Independent School District Number 26 of Okfuskee County voted on Oct. 27, 2025 to offer $790,000 in combined-purpose general obligation bonds for sale. The board set the sale for Dec. 1, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at the Administration Building, Okemah Public Schools, 107 West Date Street, Okemah, Oklahoma.
The resolution states the $790,000 issue consists of $105,000 of Building Bonds and $685,000 of Transportation Equipment Bonds, authorized previously by an election on Oct. 14, 2025. The board fixed the bond maturities at $160,000 due in two years from issue date and $210,000 annually thereafter until paid. The resolution cites Title 62, Oklahoma Statutes 2011, Section 354 as the statutory authority for offering the bonds.
Member Randolph Colbert moved to adopt the resolution; Vice President J. C. Haddox seconded. The board adopted the resolution unanimously (AYE: Bean, Haddox, Robison, Brandt, Colbert; NAY: none). The clerk was ordered to give notice of the sale as required by law; the resolution was signed and attested on Oct. 27, 2025.
Next steps: the district clerk will publish the statutorily required notice of sale ahead of the Dec. 1 auction; no underwriting terms or purchaser were specified in the meeting minutes.
