Commission grants downtown color waivers for two storefronts

At 115 S. Goliad, applicant Craig Tatum told commissioners his premium men's retail shop wanted a deep navy-blue façade rather than the downtown palettes muted warm tones; staff described the request as a minor waiver from downtown-color standards and commissioners approved the change. Later, at 103 S. San Jacinto, applicants Genevieve DuPoisin and Aubrianna Peterson explained they prefer a forest green façade with an orange door to replace an existing pink; the commission approved that waiver as well after noting the building is already distinctive in the block. "We do not like things, and that is why we are here," one applicant said, summarizing the design intent.
Both waivers were approved by the commission with votes recorded in favor; staff will document final paint selections in the permit files.
