County approves vehicle purchases, lab apparatus and transfers small pump-station parcel to Park City

The Board of Bids & Contracts presented five recommended awards and the commission approved them as presented: laboratory and safety supplies under the State of Kansas contract (vendor: Fisher Scientific); an Agilent gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer for the Regional Forensic Science Center (Agilent Technologies, $125,221); multiple fleet vehicle purchases (Don Hatton Chevrolet, Parks Motors, Davis Moore Automotive) to replace sheriff's-office vehicles.
Purchasing Director Joe Thomas summarized the recommended low bids and amounts for the items and asked the commission to approve the Board of Bids and Contracts report. "This recommendation is to accept the quote from Agilent Technologies in the amount of $125,221," Thomas said.
Facilities Director Andrew Dilts presented a separate consent item to transfer a small parcel that houses the Coliseum booster pump station to the City of Park City; staff concluded the county has no operational use for the parcel and recommended a quitclaim deed. "The property is approximately the same size as a residential lot," Dilts said, and staff noted the City of Park City already maintains the parcel. The commission authorized signature on the deed and approved the Board of Bids & Contracts recommendations by roll call.
