The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved three budget amendments during its Aug. 6 meeting after accounting specialist Rebecca Romero described the changes.
Romero said the first amendment, Resolution 25-07-CLO1, appropriates unanticipated outside funds for the Road & Bridge FY24–25 operating budget and allocates them to County Road 1 project work. She told the board the funds will be "allocated to specific project, County Road 1." The second amendment, Resolution 25-07-CLO2, transfers $11,000 from the sheriff’s operating budget into the detention center capital budget for small equipment purchases that do not qualify as operating expenses. The third amendment, Resolution 25-07-CLO3, decreases the FY25 appropriation to the District Board of Health to bring the board’s cash-on-hand down to an agreed-upon 120 days.
Each amendment was opened for a public hearing; no members of the public spoke, and commissioners moved and seconded approval in sequence. Chair West called the votes and noted each motion was unanimous.
