The Planning Commission held a short special meeting called by the chair to acknowledge an interlocal agreement and to appoint Derek Walker as executive director.
A staff member told commissioners that the interlocal agreement had been signed by participating town boards and by the county council and that confirmations had been received from local contacts. The staff member said they heard the approval on the public stream between 10:52 and 11:02 and recommended the commission acknowledge the agreement so it could proceed with the hire. "It has been signed by all of the town boards," the staff member said, adding that county council has also signed.
A committee member moved "to acknowledge and accept" the interlocal agreement and to appoint Derek Walker as executive director. The chair seconded the motion and asked commissioners to show their hands; the chair announced the motion passed unanimously. The staff member reiterated the two-part nature of the motion and named Derek Walker as the executive director being appointed: "So that motion is to appoint Derek Walker as the executive director of the planning commission."
After the vote, commissioners welcomed the incoming director and discussed logistics for signing an acknowledgement page. The chair said the director would be in the office the next day. The meeting concluded with a short procedural motion to adjourn.
