Superintendent LuVona Copeland told the Okmulgee Board of Education on March 10 that she had been in contact with the superintendent of Beggs Public Schools and offered any assistance Okmulgee Public Schools could provide after a tornado on March 6 caused significant damage to Beggs schools. The board agreed that offering help was a good idea and authorized district staff to be available to assist as needed.
The minutes record the offer of assistance but do not include details on the form that assistance would take, any resource commitments, or whether the offer was accepted by Beggs; those follow-ups would occur outside the scope of the March 10 minutes.
