The Okmulgee Board of Education convened May 12 and unanimously approved its consent agenda covering the April 14, 2026 minutes, monthly encumbrances and expenditures, school rental requests and listed fundraisers. The motion to approve was made by Board Member Chase Nunn and seconded by Leroy Parker and carried 5–0.
President Keith Baldridge called the meeting to order at 5:29 p.m., and LaVerne McKee, Board Minutes Clerk, confirmed a quorum. Superintendent LuVona Copeland outlined upcoming school events, including site awards assemblies and graduation schedules; she told the board that high school seniors will "continue the ritual of walking through each site wearing their caps and gowns before the last day of school." The board adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
The consent vote covered routine operational approvals and included no dissenting votes. The meeting minutes record the board motto on materials as "Preparing Students to be Life-Long Learners in an ever-changing society."
