"This is an annual budgeted purchase," Archie, the Fire and Emergency Services representative, said, noting the county used the same bid process earlier in the year and the quote remained valid. During questions, Archie explained cylinders can be hydro-tested periodically and have an expected usable life of roughly 20 years; after end-of-life they must be destroyed but may be kept for training use until then.
Staff recommended approval and the motion passed on consent. The item was described as necessary inventory replacement and routine fleet/equipment maintenance.
