Mayor issues proclamations for Municipal Clerks Week and water conservation and reuse

Mayor Dowling R. Watford, Jr. presented a proclamation recognizing Professional Municipal Clerks Week (May 3–9, 2026) to City Clerk Lane Gamiotea, Deputy City Clerk Katie Rogers, and Assistant Deputy City Clerk Jessica Rickards, reading the proclamation text into the record and thanking clerks for their service.
Mayor Watford also proclaimed April 2026 as Water Conservation Month and the week of May 17–23, 2026 as Water Reuse Week. The proclamations were presented to Elizabeth Pigman of the South Florida Water Management District, and the text cited state statutes supporting water reuse and statewide permitted reuse capacity figures. Pigman accepted the proclamations and the mayor called on citizens and businesses to adopt conservation and reuse practices.
