City Hall hardening progresses; council told public safety building contract expected in June

City Administrator Gary Ritter reported progress on the City Hall Hardening Project and said staff expect to present a Design-Build contract for the Public Safety Building in June. He also raised a proposal to move council meetings to 5:00 P.M., which would require a resolution and public input.
Administrator Gary Ritter updated the council on the City Hall Hardening Project: East archway entrances are constructed, soffits and corbels are being installed, windows have been ordered, and roofing tiles delivered. Ritter said the City Seal Mural on the north exterior was temporarily covered for replastering and staff have solicited input and a quote from an artist for repainting. "Should have the Design Build Contract for the Public Safety Building to present to City Council at a June meeting," Ritter said.
Ritter also broached changing council meeting start times to 5:00 P.M. to reduce staff overtime; he said a Resolution would be required and Vice Mayor Clark requested public input before any change. The Commerce Center/NE 9th Street resurfacing project was reported on schedule to be completed next week.
