Summary
Participants recommended community events in parks, libraries and centers, stronger partnerships with community agencies, and targeted supports such as transportation to bring more parents — especially those with schedule or transport barriers — into district workshops and meetings.

Parents and school staff urged the district to take events and workshops into community spaces and use partnerships to reach families who do not typically come to school sites.
"Invitamos agencias a nuestra escuela y esto abre oportunidades con socios," said a school staff member describing established community partnerships. Parents proposed holding events at parks and libraries and using community centers to reach working families. One parent suggested allocating resources for transportation to workshops to reduce barriers: "podemos tal vez asignar recursos para que los padres reciban servicio de transporte a ciertos talleres que ofrece el distrito."
Speakers pointed to a recent north Long Beach event organized by Tisha Irvin as a model for cross‑site outreach spanning elementary through high school. Board members thanked participants and said the district will include community outreach strategies in follow‑up planning.
