Committee approves final plan revision for Aurora University Learning Commons

The Building Zoning and Economic Development Committee approved resolution 26-0454, a final plan revision for Aurora University's Learning Commons at 1433 Prairie Street.
Jane Rechner, associate planner, said the petitioner requested changes to the approved landscape plan to increase canopy trees while reducing deciduous and evergreen shrubs. "The canopy tree equivalent or CTE count was originally 58, and it will decrease to 48, which still meets the landscape requirement," Rechner said. Staff reviewed the revised submittals, sent comments back to the petitioner, and confirmed the revisions now meet applicable codes and ordinances. No changes were proposed to the building itself.
Committee members asked for a side-by-side comparison of the original and revised plans so that they could more easily see what changed; staff acknowledged that request and indicated it could be provided in future materials. A motion to approve the final plan revision was made and seconded; the committee voted in favor and carried the motion.
The approval applies to the landscape revisions as documented and requires the petitioner to implement the approved plan.
