The Alliance City Council voted unanimously Nov. 4 to appoint Randy Hitchcock to fill a council vacancy. Mayor McGhehey moved “to appoint Randy Hitchcock to fill the Council Vacancy,” and Vice Mayor Mashburn seconded the motion, which carried on a roll-call vote with Yates, Turman, Mashburn and McGhehey voting aye.
City Clerk Amie L. Bedient administered the Oath of Office to Councilman Randy Hitchcock following the vote, formalizing his seat on the council. The special meeting had been opened at 6:45 p.m. at the Alliance Learning Center Community Meeting Room; the council recorded adjournment at 6:52 p.m. The clerk’s office noted a public notice was published in the Alliance Times Herald on Oct. 29, 2025 and that full minutes are available for public inspection at City Hall.
The appointment filled the one agenda item listed for the special meeting, described in the published notice as “Reorganization of the City Council.” No other motions, amendments or public comments were recorded in the minutes for this session.
