Parks director asks Planning Board to support Recreation Master Plan work on Durrell Road field

Jeremy Phillips, Tamworth Parks & Recreation Director, appeared at the Planning Board meeting to request support and placement on a future agenda for a Recreation Master Plan focused in part on the Durrell Road recreation field. Phillips said the Master Plan would provide "marching orders" aligned with the Town Master Plan and help clarify what can be advanced by the Selectboard and departments.
Board members discussed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) responsibilities and whether training costs or technical assistance would be needed. Lianne Prentice and staff are drafting a flow chart to guide departments and committees on how to submit projects for CIP consideration; a work session is scheduled for July 15 and the board will check whether the Lakes Regional Planning Commission can attend to advise on process. No formal vote was taken on the Recreation Master Plan request; the item was placed on future agenda planning.
