Heidi Ruiz, a student leader introduced by the board as a representative from Browning High School, told the board her school hosted a two‑week barista internship that taught customer service and workplace skills and said 22 LBCC courses are available to students. "Mi nombre es Ruiz y yo soy la presidente de ASP," Ruiz said as she outlined college credits and recent scholarship recipients.
Miyu Takajashi, a 12th‑grade student speaker, highlighted academic achievements, Advanced Placement coursework and extracurricular successes, and reminded families of an open community session on May 28. She said athletic teams qualified for CIF and noted students who received scholarships and college acceptances, asking the board to continue supporting dual‑enrollment work that helps students graduate with both high school diplomas and college credits.
