Commissioners add two bridges to five‑year plan to pursue bridge-improvement grant funding
Summary
The board approved Resolution 20 26-21 to amend the county five-year plan to include two bridges (Bridge IDs 15-190-099 and 15-190-11) so the county can qualify for state bridge-improvement grant funds; Randy said inclusion was an oversight and will put the bridges on the state's radar.

The commissioners approved Resolution 20 26-21 to amend the county’s five-year bridge plan to add two bridges so they qualify for this year’s bridge-improvement grant program. "In order to qualify for this year's bridge improvement grant fund money, we have to have these bridges on that 5 year plan," Randy told the commission. He said the two bridges had been on the county’s radar but were omitted from the formal five-year plan and that adding them is a proactive step to pursue funding.
Commissioners voted on a motion by Johnson, seconded by McElhaney, and the chair recorded the motion as carried. A commissioner asked whether adding these bridges would change other entries on the five-year plan; Randy said it does not change other projects, it simply ensures these two are visible to the state for grant consideration.
