The Jackson Select Board voted June 23 to mount a New Hampshire Barn Trail sign on the existing Jackson Public Library signpost, acknowledging the library occupies a repurposed historic structure (the Tricky Barn) that is one of 29 barns on the statewide trail.
Chair Bob Thompson described the building's history and noted a donor cited the barn as a reason they value the library. Frank DiFruscio said the library is "a gem," and the board moved, via a motion from Barbara Campbell seconded by Frank DiFruscio, to place the sign facing the road. The motion carried unanimously.
The board also noted Alice Tricky served as Jackson's first librarian for 27 years; the sign will be mounted on the existing post once staff coordinates installation.
