During new business on Sept. 15, Councilman Keith Bacin asked Council to consider legislation treating E‑Bikes as Class‑3 bicycles. Chief Troy Weaver said he will compile a breakdown of current Village ordinances, rules, and enforcement options for Council to review. Law Director John Studenmund said the Village updates traffic ordinances annually and that the Safety Services committee can address the matter.
Mayor Jarvis added that officers currently have authority to stop E‑Bikes exceeding posted speed limits. No legislation was introduced at the meeting; the item was entered as a suggested topic for committee or further staff review.
