Council adopted Ordinance No. 25-28 on Sept. 15, 2025, authorizing a three‑year agreement with the Lexington‑Troy Township Union Cemetery to provide grave excavation services upon request. Council President Wynn Kearns said the Village Street Department will dig graves when called by the Cemetery Sexton and that graves are typically grouped rather than dug singly.
The ordinance sets the rate at $200.00 per grave and estimates approximately 20–25 graves per year. Council voted to waive the usual committee and reading requirements and approved the ordinance by unanimous roll call.
