Council approves sale of two police cruisers; auction begins Oct. 1

Lexington Mayor Bob Jarvis and Council adopted Resolution No. 25-26 on Sept. 15, 2025, authorizing the sale of two police patrol vehicles on GovDeals. Council President Wynn Kearns moved to waive ordinary committee and reading rules before Council then voted to adopt the resolution by unanimous roll call.
According to discussion during the meeting, the Village will begin the online auction on Oct. 1. The resolution was advanced under an emergency declaration so the vehicles may be listed promptly. The action follows Chief Troy Weaver’s report that two older cruisers have been cleared out and prepared for auction.
