Curtis said the authority hired Autumn Kaiser as a property manager for northern county properties and is close to leasing up the Midland apartment building, with 11 units still available and a lease‑up incentive on a 2‑bedroom to meet occupancy thresholds. “Our goal is to be at 95% occupancy by the end of the year,” Curtis said.
She outlined a regional effort to compile Prop 1/2/3 counts and said the authority expects to end up with a regional surplus of roughly 53 units beyond targets, which would help meet the region’s commitments. Curtis also described grant work: an application to the HUD continuum of care for rental assistance and a HUD grant to support bridge housing, and noted some DHS and alliance funding that previously supported hotel placements is being reduced. The housing authority continues to operate case management and navigation services for very low‑income seniors, domestic‑violence survivors, and unhoused households and is seeking funding to expand bridge housing capacity.
Trustees asked about vacancy numbers and compliance requirements tied to funding; Curtis said the property manager transition included DOH compliance file reviews and that the authority was pursuing lease‑up strategies and targeted recruitment for remaining units.
