Mesabi East approves $53,643 bus lease and $2,000 Head Start rental agreement

The Mesabi East School District board authorized a bus lease with Santander Bank in the amount of $53,643 to purchase a 2021 IC CE 77-passenger school bus. Director Justin Adams moved the lease approval and Director Pamela LaFrenier seconded; the motion passed.
The board also approved a rental agreement with AEOA Head Start for $2,000 covering July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. Both items were recorded as approved in the Aug. 5 meeting minutes and will be implemented through the district’s transportation and facilities departments.
Next steps: the Business Office and transportation staff will finalize lease paperwork and schedule bus acquisition; facilities staff will execute the Head Start rental agreement.
