David Jones, natural resources branch chief, presented the fall hunting and recreational fisheries schedule and noted access rules for post hunting. ‘‘We're only about 2.5 weeks away for the opening of squirrel season, which would be on August 15,’’ Jones said, and listed subsequent openers for dove (Sept. 2) and deer archery (Sept. 12), plus quota hunts in November and December.
Jones emphasized weapon restrictions (shotgun or muzzleloader only; no rifles) and described registration procedures: complete form 2759 and a copy of the driver’s license at the visitor center for about a one‑week turnaround, with the name on the form required for pickup.
