Fort Knox housing office warns residents on pet registration, recycling closures and bulk‑trash rules

Michelle Lasalle, director of property management for Knox Hills, urged residents to register new pets within 14 days and explained documentation and behavior requirements. “You are only allowed to have a maximum of 3 pets per household,” Lasalle said, adding that service animals do not count toward the limit and that failure to comply could result in fines, loss of pet privileges or eviction.
Lasalle also described bulk-trash procedures — two scheduled pickups per month, two items per pickup — and said the Oak Park recycling site has been closed for improper use and the Dietz location is slated for removal, leaving a single functioning drop-off in the historic community. She encouraged residents to work through their community office and, if unresolved, to escalate issues to housing leadership.
