Audit committee plans RFP as current audit firm shifts to consulting role

Chair Lauren told the committee the city has one year remaining on its contract with the current auditor, Marina, and that the firm will transition to a consulting role. "Of course, we have 1 more year on our contract with Marina... we would love to be with them forever, but they're moving on to more of a consulting role," Lauren said, and said the city plans to issue an RFP likely in summer.
Committee members asked whether selection would be based solely on cost. Lauren said the RFP will outline evaluation criteria so the choice will not be made on lowest cost alone; Moffitt said he can provide the committee a compiled Excel list of municipal auditors in Oregon to assist the selection process.
