Board approves 2025 appointments, names Brant & Associates solicitor and sets $2.5M treasurer's bond

The Douglass Township Board of Supervisors approved a slate of appointments for 2025 at its Jan. 6 reorganization meeting, confirming legal counsel, engineering vendors and key staff positions. By motion of Mr. Stouch and seconded by Ms. Carpenter, the board appointed Brant & Associates, LLC as Township Solicitor and Planning Agency Solicitor; Boyd & Karver as Labor Attorney; and Pennoni Engineering as Township General Engineer and Traffic Engineer. The board also appointed Robert Evans as Police Chief, Marcy Meitzler as Township Secretary/Administrative Assistant, and Cynthia O'Donnell as Treasurer/Finance Director.

The Board set the Treasurer's bond at $2,500,000 with H.A. Thomson/Travelers Insurance after a motion by Don Bergstresser, seconded by Joshua Stouch; the minutes record the vote as unanimous. The minutes list additional appointments (building inspector, road foreman, fire marshal at $17.00 per hour for inspections, solid waste coordinator, pension fund Chief Administrative Officers, sewage enforcement, tax collectors, and multiple committee and board representatives). A motion recorded in the minutes states, "A motion was made by Mr. Stouch, seconded by Ms. Carpenter to appoint Brant & Associates, LLC as Township Solicitor; Boyd & Karver as Labor Attorney; Brant & Associates, LLC as Planning Agency Solicitor; Pennoni Engineering as Township General Engineer & Traffic Engineer; Robert Evans as Police Chief; Marcy Meitzler as Township Secretary/Administrative Assistant; and Cynthia O'Donnell as Treasurer/Finance Director."
