Bill Shrader was elected president of the Calhoun County Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 18, 2026 after a 4-3 vote of trustees.
Nominations began with Tyler McAfee nominating Cindy Alford and Vincent Phillips nominating Bill Shrader. Superintendent Evan Cardwell moved to cease nominations; the recorded vote shows Batts, Phillips, Shrader and Williams voting in favor of Shrader and Alford, Dworaczyk and McAfee indicating support for Alford. The minutes state, “Let the minutes reflect Bill Shrader is elected Board President.”
After the presidential vote, Bill Shrader presided over the election of vice president and secretary. On nomination by Mr. McAfee, Cindy Alford was elected vice president by acclamation. Mrs. Alford nominated Dana Dworaczyk for board secretary; the board elected Dworaczyk by acclamation.
The reorganization follows the swearing-in earlier in the meeting of newly elected trustees Brian Batts, Vincent Phillips and Michael Williams. The board convened the rest of its agenda under the new leadership.
