Council Bill 50, an amendment to the county pay plan, came before the council as a technical update to two pay schedules: one for public‑safety dispatchers and one for fire management. Anshie Bennett, human resources administrator, told the council the dispatcher schedule contained an inadvertent rounding issue and the fire‑management schedule needs updates to account for 42‑ and 48‑hour work schedules for assistant chief positions.
Bennett said the dispatcher adjustment corrects hourly rates (previously reflected incorrectly) and that the fire‑management changes simply prorate annual salary across a different number of hours; she added there is no notable fiscal impact and the changes are prospective for the 01/01/2025 schedule. No council questions were raised at the hearing.
