Supervisors approve 25 mph speed limit along 213th Avenue for school route

The engineer told supervisors the segment currently has no posted speed limit and that, by law, the unposted limit would otherwise default to higher speeds.
"I think with our trucks coming in and out of the school traffic, I think it's a good idea to go 25 based on my evaluations," the county engineer said, describing traffic patterns near the new school routes. The board moved and seconded the speed‑limit change and approved it by recorded 'Aye' votes.
Staff will order signage and implement the posted limit; supervisors discussed the short length of the zone (about 0.5 mile) and the expectation that posted limits will help traffic calm the route at peak school times.
