The council took multiple administrative actions July 6: it approved an Excavator’s, Drain Layer’s and Sidewalk Layer’s license for Let's Roll Contracting, LLC; accepted Randy Grgurich's three-year bid of $799.00 per year to mow the closed Lucas-Monroe County landfill; and approved a waiver of Community Center fees for the Lucas County Human Resources Exchange Council's Back-to-School event on Aug. 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Board had recommended the fee waiver.
Separately, resident Matt Oxenreider requested to close and purchase the alley adjacent to 221 South 16th Street; the council directed City Attorney Verle Norris to review the request and report back. City Manager Douglas Anderson presented a Chariton Police Officer Agreement and the council similarly asked the City Attorney to review the agreement for presentation at a future meeting. All motions recorded in the minutes passed or were referred by unanimous votes where noted.
