Director briefs Parks Board on upcoming CAPRA reaccreditation visits and events

The director reported that the department is in the final stages of a CAPRA (Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies) reaccreditation and that site visitors will be in Missouri City for three days. "They will be here for 3 days on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of this month," the director said, and invited board members to attend a staff outing at a Space Cowboys game on May 26 and a CAPRA breakfast and park tour on May 27 to help showcase department work.
Staff will circulate ticket and event information and asked board members to RSVP. The director also used the report to announce new recreation staff hires and to highlight the growing homeschool "recess" program that has reached about 30 children, asking for board participation during CAPRA events to support the department's reaccreditation effort.
