Fleet staff and Solid Waste leaders explained that the unit is used daily, moves containers and large items, and that analysis showed leasing would be more expensive over the useful life. Shaquani Carter, assistant director for Solid Waste (speaker 23), said the truck is used daily and a replacement was necessary. "We use that truck pretty much every day," Carter said. Council approved the item unanimously.
