Pleasant Hill survey: streets and infrastructure top priority for residents

Portionette Insights presented results from a community survey to the Pleasant Hill City Council on July 27, reporting 690 survey starts, 592 completions and 538 verified-resident responses; the presentation emphasized that streets and infrastructure had the largest gap between importance and satisfaction.
Julie Stevenson, the survey presenter, said, "For a community this size, these response rates are amazing," and noted the IS (importance-satisfaction) ranking placed maintenance of city streets and overall infrastructure at the top of priorities. She reported that 97% of residents said any additional revenue should be used to fund street maintenance, and recommended using the findings to inform the strategic planning session and targeted communications to show residents how the city will act on priorities.
Stevenson also highlighted geographic differences: Precinct 22 showed lower satisfaction on streets, sidewalks and street lighting, suggesting targeted investments may be more effective than system-wide programs. A detailed written report and slide deck will be provided for the council's upcoming strategic planning session.
