Board honors Special Olympics gold‑medalist and Miss Oregon, accepts commemorative flag

Klamath County commissioners presented challenge coins, T‑shirts and signed letters to Special Olympics athlete Alivia DiBrito and to Allyssa DeFillipo (Miss Oregon), and accepted a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol and a certificate noting Senator Ron Wyden requested it for the county's 250th anniversary commemoration.
The Klamath County Board of Commissioners honored local resident Alivia DiBrito for winning Special Olympics medals and presented challenge coins, a T‑shirt and a signed letter recognizing her gold medals in the 4x25‑yard freestyle relay and the 25‑yard freestyle and a bronze in the 25‑yard backstroke.
The board also presented similar items to Allyssa DeFillipo in recognition of being crowned Miss Oregon. During the same portion of the agenda, Ron Johnson and Sarah Callen presented a United States flag that the certificate of authenticity says was flown over the U.S. Capitol at Senator Ron Wyden’s request to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary and the July 4 parade.
