Lima City Council adopted a resolution on first reading honoring Councilor Todd Gordon for his induction into the Lima Warriors Hall of Fame. The resolution, read into the record by the clerk and moved by a council member, recognizes Gordon’s 22 seasons coaching youth and semi-professional football and cites league championships in 1999, 2004 and 2005.
Council members praised Gordon’s mentorship and community leadership. “Being a coach is a lot more than X’s and O’s. It’s being a mentor,” a councilor said during remarks praising Gordon’s service to youth programs. Gordon, who thanked his family and the Lima Warriors organization, reflected on coaching as a form of community service and noted his long ties to youth sports and to his constituents.
The resolution was moved, seconded and adopted on its first reading with the roll called as recorded by the clerk. Councilors also recognized Gordon’s ongoing role as a council representative and his work with local youth. The council then returned to regular business.
