Shrock Premier of Loudonville submitted the lowest bid for the Village Depot construction at $960,248.03, Mayor Bob Jarvis told the council on Jan. 20. The Mayor said the Village's planned contribution to the project is $600,000 and that overall costs were higher than anticipated, prompting the council to consider delaying facets of the project for a year or two.
"Four bids were received. Shrock Premier, a company out of Loudonville has the lowest bid at $960,248.03," Jarvis said. He added that the Village will explore delaying portions of the project because of the higher costs. Councilman Kim Little raised a design concern, saying the overlook above the Clear Fork River will need to handle flooding when the site is developed.
The presentation to council did not include a decision or vote to award the contract on Jan. 20. Officials said they will review options and timing; no revised budget or schedule for awarding the contract was recorded in the transcript. The depot bid discussion was part of the Mayor's report and concluded with the Council noting the Village's $600,000 contribution and the option to phase or delay parts of the work.
