During public comment, Amanda Sanders, a district fifth‑grade teacher, urged the board to consider updating the district’s language‑arts curriculum, which she said has not been replaced since 2018.
"Maybe you could consider upgrading our language‑arts curriculum because it's been since 2018," Sanders said, and asked that the district tap teacher expertise when the curriculum committee reviews options. Board members said the topic could be referred to the curriculum committee for evaluation and potential inclusion in future budgets.
Administrators and trustees thanked Sanders for her remarks and suggested the curricular review be discussed at committee level so that cost, teacher input and instructional impact could be assessed before funding decisions are made.
