Ford Heights approves rodeo permit and temporary liquor license for September event

The Ford Heights board approved a $200 permit for Manuel Sanchez to operate a rodeo at 1401 Deer Creek on Sept. 27, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and approved a temporary liquor license for the event.
"The motion has approved to allow met Manuel Sanchez have a permit of $200 to post a rodeo at 1401 Deer Creek... from 8AM to 11PM," the deputy clerk said. The clerk also recorded approval of a temporary liquor-license motion (the motion referenced $400 on the record). Trustees did not amend the hours or location during the public meeting.
During public comment residents asked why the village did not capture more of the event alcohol revenue in prior years, and speakers recommended reassessing permit and liquor-license fee structures for future events.
