Library signs with Libraria to restore book ordering after vendor exit

Trustees approved a purchase order with Libraria not to exceed $200,000 for FY2027 to restore the district’s ability to order new books and maintain collection growth following the exit of a previous supplier. Deputy Director Shelly Alexander said Baker & Taylor went out of business in October 2025 and Libraria’s expanded offerings now allow the district to begin placing orders in July.
Alexander described Libraria as a full-service vendor that provides shelf-ready items and cataloging so materials can be processed and made available to patrons quickly. Trustee Givens moved the purchase order, a second was recorded, and the motion passed by voice vote.
