Library district okays $15,000 mini-grant application to support summer learning

The board authorized submission of a $15,000 mini-grant application from the Nevada State Library and Archives, which would support programming, technology and outreach for next year’s summer learning challenge. Deputy Director Shelly Alexander explained this mini-grant opportunity was one of several state grants released recently and said the awards could expand services while minimizing impact to the general operating budget.
Trustee Henry moved to approve the application and Trustee Acosta seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. Alexander said the grant would specifically help expand summer learning resources and related outreach.
