Board hears introductions of new Hillsborough elementary principal and district ELA supervisor

The Hillsborough Township Board of Education heard introductions and recommendations for two administrative hires during the superintendent's report. Joel Handler, sitting in for Superintendent Volpe, recommended Usmeen Amin as principal of Hillsborough Elementary School and Daniel Brack as supervisor of English Language Arts for grades 7–12.

"I offer her my highest recommendation for your approval," Handler said when introducing Amin, noting her 25 years of elementary education experience and local ties to Hillsborough. Amin thanked the board and described her commitment to inclusive school environments, saying, "It is truly an honor to be here this evening, and I'm sincerely grateful to be considered for the opportunity to serve as the next principal of Hillsborough Elementary School." She told the board her family has lived in Hillsborough for more than 12 years and said she looks forward to "helping every child shine."

Handler also introduced Daniel Brack, whom he described as a "highly accomplished student-centered leader" with 17 years of secondary ELA experience and supervisory experience in New Jersey. Brack addressed the board and said he is "so excited to be joining the team here in Hillsborough," and emphasized literacy instruction and collaborative leadership as priorities. Both introductions were presented for the board's consideration as part of the human-resources agenda.
