Donald presented a Capital Improvement Project (CIP) update at the June 2 meeting, reviewing projects in construction, bidding and design. He said the 2025 street panel replacement and Gables Road repair are complete and that a preconstruction meeting for the Eastern Road/Tall Tree intersection improvement is scheduled with anticipated construction start in late June or early July and a roughly 120-day schedule.
On the FM 544 McCurry right-turn lane project, Donald said the original project budget was $650,000 and the board authorized increasing the budget by $32,516 from the MDD to cover a higher estimate; staff plans to present a formal budget amendment at the next council meeting. For the Rodeo elevated storage rehab project, Donald said the original construction budget was $675,000, engineering contracted at $107,000, leaving roughly $567,000 available, but the updated construction estimate is $840,000 and staff will recommend increasing the budget by about $272,000 at the next meeting. Staff also noted bid timing for cast iron water main replacement and a CIP dashboard is available on the city's website.
