Council also directed staff to solicit asphalt bids for 3rd and 4th streets with an optional bid for 5th, so the city can decide whether to include the additional street depending on cost. Council members emphasized the priority of 3rd and 4th streets as the worst segments in need of repair.
Members discussed setting a contractor completion deadline, getting competitive bids, and planning milling and paving work to avoid end-of-season delays. Staff and the city engineer will follow up with bid documents and a schedule for council consideration.
