Commissioners approve $283,903 amendment to state grant contract for county health clinic

The court approved Amendment No. 3 to the county's contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services for the local IMM grant funding the Hunt County health clinic. County staff said the amendment increases the contract by approximately $283,903 and extends the term to August 21, 2027.
Treasurer Britney explained the amendment is the annual grant appropriation that helps fund the clinic's payroll and noted the county has received the grant for more than two decades. "This is basically accepting the contract, which is just extending it for another year," Britney said, adding that the amount is recorded in fund 26 and funds a large part of clinic payroll.
Commissioners approved the amendment by voice vote. Staff said the grant amount has not substantially increased since its original award and that the county supplements clinic funding to cover other costs.
