Hampton students to present placemaking projects July 29 at Hampton Roads Convention Center

Presenter (S1) tied the effort to the city’s strategic plan and defined the assignment: "Placemaking is an urban planning concept. As a city, you need to identify 10 places that are significant for your city and then create 10 activities that people across generations can participate in in each of those 10 places."
Presenter (S1) said the city will review each student proposal and tell participants "what they can and cannot invest in or what they anticipate over a specific time span." The presenter encouraged the public to attend the July 29 event at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, where students will formally present their projects and receive feedback from city staff.
The next step is the public presentation on July 29; city staff will follow up with students on feasibility and timelines after reviewing proposals.
