The Montgomery Village Board approved a replacement cost-sharing agreement with Wayside Cross Ministries to upsize approximately 668 feet of 6-inch main to an 8-inch main to serve a proposed youth center at 286 Sherman Avenue. Director Minnick said current code requires an 8-inch service main and that upsizing now would reduce future disruption and leverage timing with other work.
An engineer's estimate of probable cost for the total improvement was $201,663, including engineering and a contingency; $49,434 of that estimate is attributable directly to the youth center and $152,229 to the village's system. Under the agreement the owner will replace and upsize the entire line and the village will reimburse its share; the village will pay 25% of its share at construction commencement (about $38,057) with the remainder within 30 days of acceptance and a final true-up after actual costs are known. Staff recommended approval and the motion carried 4–0.
The board recorded that the project was not initially budgeted in FY27 but that funding is available within the budget to proceed. Staff said contractors will provide required bonds for public improvements.
