Board amends ordinance 21-89, removes Louis Gas from approval and awards second M-2 license to RDK Ventures

One trustee told the board they had canvassed roughly a dozen neighbors and that “everybody I asked said no,” and announced they would vote against approving Louis Gas and Food Mart. Another trustee said they had heard from residents as well but cautioned that canvassing can undercount supporters. After discussion the president proposed amending the ordinance to remove approval for Louis Gas and Food Mart while increasing the village's M-2 count from one to two and awarding the second license to RDK Ventures. The motion to approve the ordinance as edited (approve ordinance 21-89, strike any approval for Louis Gas and Food Mart, increase M-2 count to two with the second license assigned to RDK Ventures) was made, seconded and approved on roll call, 4–0.
The action leaves Louis Gas and Food Mart without an M-2 approval at this time; the board indicated the Louis Gas request is not advanced under the amended ordinance. The ordinance as amended will be updated in legal form and returned for recordation.
