Commission approves employee action forms, recruitment and revised emergency-services job descriptions

The Board of Raleigh County Commissioners approved several personnel items on July 27. Commissioners voted to approve county employee action forms that included a status change for Katherine Jones to exempt interim work coordinator and status/title changes for EMS staff (Josh Gehring and Alex Proxman). The board also authorized staff to begin recruitment to fill two vacant customer-service representative positions in the treasurer’s office, after Treasurer Shiloh Hager reported two recent resignations and staffing shortfalls.
Later in the meeting, Emergency Services Director David Adams presented updated position descriptions for the fire division chief and deputy chief roles that reflect a consolidated emergency-services structure and cross-trained leadership responsibilities. Adams said the job descriptions incorporate updated certification expectations and noted some training/certification items depend on program availability at the state level. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the updated position descriptions.
