Director of Transit Salim Salters (S23) told the board the service will begin with ribbon-cutting events at the McDonough square and the Stockbridge amphitheater. "Today is an exciting day for Henry County. We're gonna implement the first fixed route for the county," Salters said, describing connections that will allow riders to access medical care, government services and evening events without relying on a car.
County management and staff framed the route as an early step in expanding local transit options; the board encouraged attendance at the ribbon-cutting events and requested staff continue outreach to the public about schedules and stops. No fares, schedules or operating budgets were finalized in the presentation; staff said detailed operational information will be shared with the public ahead of the launch.
